The England Test captain took just 88 balls to hit 161 thunderous runs – including 17 sixes. This was Ben’s twentieth century in first class matches.
Five of Ben’s sixes came off one Josh Baker over, with the bowler conceding 34 runs in the space of six balls.
Ben sped to his century in 64 balls – a record in the County Championship for Durham. His rapid knock enabled Durham to declare on 580-6 in the afternoon session on day two.
